What can happen when your gate handle is not
installed properly
The need for a proper gate stop is made apparant when viewing this
image of one of our bronze gate handles. The gate stop is an alignment
device that can prevent hinge, latch and gate damage and will also help
prolong the life of your gate.
If a gate stop is not installed on your gate, the
risk of damage to the gate and its hardware is increased and as a
result, normal usage of the gate can result in fractured handles and
hinges. The image to the left demonstrates the kind of fracture that
can occur when a strong gust of wind or a heavy hand closes the gate
without a gate stop.
